TukuToi Plugin Generator
A WordPress and ClassicPress plugin that turns a boilerplate into a new, correctly named plugin from a form and hands it over as a ZIP download.
Starting a plugin from a boilerplate means renaming the same strings in dozens of files: prefix, class names, slug, text domain, constants, version, author, readme headers. TukuToi Plugin Generator does that from a form.
Put the [generate_plugin] shortcode on a page, fill in the form, and the generator copies the
source boilerplate, replaces every placeholder, sends the new plugin to your browser as a
ZIP download and deletes the build from the server.
The default source is the
Better WordPress Plugin Boilerplate.
Swap the source folder for your own boilerplate and it generates from that instead, as long as
the placeholder strings match. Strictly speaking it replaces any string in any set of files.
Current state
No longer developed. The last release is 2.0.0 (February 2022). It runs generateplugins.com, the public site for the Better WordPress Plugin Boilerplate. Because of abuse, that site no longer generates plugins directly.
