A subscription audio platform for Outlast Audio

What they needed

Outlast Audio offers on-demand audio support from licensed mental health professionals: a library of recordings on emotional and mental health topics, available by subscription. The site had to sell and manage those subscriptions, play the audio well, and follow the brand’s own design and colors on every screen size.

What I built

I built the whole site, and Outlast Audio is still my client.

• A custom theme based on the Bootscore starter theme, with a customized Bootstrap 5.3 build matched to the site’s design and color scheme.
• Several must-use plugins that hold the data structures (post types and fields) and the site-specific features.
• Subscriptions through WooCommerce and WooCommerce Subscriptions, which handle sign-up, access to the audio content and recurring payments.
• Audio playback through the MP3 Audio Player by Sonaar.

Why it matters

The content model lives in must-use plugins, not in the theme, so a future redesign can replace the theme without touching the data. Recurring billing runs on WooCommerce Subscriptions instead of custom payment code.
