WordPress and PHP modernization

How it runs

• An assessment first: what runs, what is outdated or unsafe, and what the business cannot do without. You get a fixed quote from it.
• The work happens on a copy of your site. Production changes only when the copy has passed.
• Coding standards, static analysis and tests run on every change. Same code in, same verdict out.
• Old code is replaced where it has to be and kept where it still does its job.

What you get

• A site on current, supported versions, with the security holes found on the way closed.
• Documentation of what changed and why, handed over with the work.
• Every change in your own repository, with its full history.

Questions

How long does a modernization take?

That depends entirely on what is being modernized. Some jobs take days; rebuilding a 12-year-old community site took eight months, with requirements that changed along the way.

Will the site go offline?

No. The work happens on a copy of your site, and production changes only when the copy has passed.

What does the assessment cost?

690 CHF, fixed. Credited in full if the project starts within 60 days.

What about abandoned plugins?

It depends on what the plugin does and how risky it is. I replace it, or take over maintaining it.

Do I need a care plan afterwards?

It's recommended, not required.

From 4,500 CHF (about 5,450 USD, 4,900 EUR), fixed, after assessment. You get a fixed quote before any work starts. Write to me.
